Spring Clean

My main photography website has had a small make-over – more of a late Spring Clean – with a new section on Product Photography, and a tidy-up of the photos.

Longest Day, 2009

According to the BBC, the summer solstice sunrise occurred this morning at 4.48 am. I missed it. It probably looked very much like yesterday’s. Big bright ball rising above the horizon. Seen it, done it. If it DIDN’T appear at 04.48am, nor any time after it, now THAT I would get up early for. Probably would need a torch.

Busy couple of days compiling and uploading images to my new Flickr account (http://www.flickr.com/photos/39595274@N07/ ). Pretty much the same as preparing photos for anything – it can take ages. And that’s before tags / keyword are added. Assuming the router doesn’t fall over (again), the upload itself is quite rapid, even on the crawling <1MBsec upload rate we have here in the rural parts of Suffolk. I think we’re some way off streaming HD video. Still, it’s a step in the right direction. Just may take a while…

Always trying to be more creative, here’s an unusual shot of the Peggy’s Cove lighthouse in Nova Scotia, taken in 2005 on my old Nikon D70, with only a small adjustment of levels in Nikon Capture NX. Photoshop was used to remove a second person on the rock.
