Short “behind the scenes” videos showing the capture of a couple of my black & white images are now available to view online at Vimeo.com. The first is from my very recent visit to the “Stock Ghyll Force” waterfall, in England’s Lake District, and the second for the “Sentinel” black & white image, taken along the coast at Hunstanton in Norfolk, UK.

Some great news – I’ve just been informed that four of my images have been shortlisted for the final round of the British Institute of Professional Photography’s National Photographic Awards 2010!
The images selected – all black & white – are: Old Railway Jetty Study II, Portrait of an Elephant, Pink Tulip Study IV and Sentinel. Clicking on the names will take you to the photographs on my website.
The winners will be announced at Oxfordshire’s stunning Blenheim Palace at an evening awards event in late November. So just a couple more months of nail-biting to go..!

The UK’s Suffolk Free Press have run a great item on the recent competition results, accompanied by a picture of yours truly “buried” amongst some of the prints! The link to the article is at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/39595274@N07/4997695603/
Very many thanks to the SFP for putting together the terrific article.

New photographs from my recent visit to the UK’s stunning Lake District and Scotland’s beautiful and rugged south-east coast will be online soon.
During the five-day trip I was accompanied by my wife and an old friend, who adventurously climbed a few of the local mountains along the well-worn paths to gain spectacular views from the summits or walk around the deep lakes, while I clambered over rocks along the rugged Scottish shorelines with my camera gear and tripod or made my way through the masses of vibrant green vegetation and deep forests in the Lake District. During the day we’d meet-up to enjoy the local food and swap stories of our excursions before crashing-out at the end of each day at the local B&Bs.
Here’s one of the images from the new work – the spectacular Stock Ghyll Force waterfall in the Lake District. The second photograph, taken by our companion Lindsay Vigor, gives a clue to the frequent weather conditions we had during the trip, with my wife helping-out with an umbrella on our last day in Scotland, at Portpatrick.

The UK’s East Anglian Daily Times have run a great 2-page, centre-spread article on the B+W Photographer of the Year and International Photography Awards wins, which can be found via this link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/39595274@N07/4971417208/lightbox/

The latest edition of the UK’s B+W Photography Magazine (October 2010) features a supplement containing all the Photographer of the Year 2010 winners’ pictures, including my Behind The Eyes series and Lion’s Stare photograph, with the latter appearing in pride of place on the front cover of the supplement and the B+W exhibition posters.
Last week, B+W Photography Magazine, the winners and competition sponsors all met at Hooper’s Gallery in London for the awards and exhibition launch evening, which was thoroughly enjoyable and an opportunity to meet a wide range of artists. The exhibition is on until 9th September.
